"Is a college education still the best investment a parent can make?"

“Millions of people have made substantial sacrifices in order to send their children to school to change their status – and find a well paying job. We know now that this assumption is erroneous.

Do we know what kind of education is needed? Is a college education still the best investment a parent can make?

Our schools policies are antiquated. Our educators are taught as if we were educating a citizen of ancient Greece. We need a means of training well-balanced citizens for democracy. We need to start a meaningful discussion on training for manual workers on transitions to a useful knowledge worker profession.

I recently saw a GPS system used for planting trees. The color light on a tractor instructed the driver where and what tree to plant. There are large number of changes being made every day. Anybody that has access to a search engine has access to all the knowledge in the world.

200 years ago, we built machines because we did not have enough labor to do the jobs. Should we now define machines to create jobs? Because we don’t have enough jobs for people. . .”
