“And my students now. . . the things they usually find they need. . .”

“And when I go through this with my clients, where I first began 40 years ago, and my students now, the things they usually find they need the most is knowledge about the rest of the organization. They don’t need more tax knowledge. They don’t need more pricing knowledge, maybe a little. But, by and large, they are always specialized. But they also need to know what they are no good at, or where they are not strong.

Our schools, our remedial institutions, they focus on the weakness of people—and have to by the way. We are not traditionally focusing on the strengths, except for artists. Every teacher of artists—I’ve had a great interest in music teaching—finds out what this brilliant student is good at and pushes that. And doesn’t try to remedy weaknesses first. You can’t build anything on weaknesses. You can only build on strengths.”
