The GIRLS SCOUTS & HARVARD by Regina Herzlinger

“She, [Frances Hesselbein], wanted to start a program for management development of the Girl Scouts Council leaders with the Harvard Business School. And at that time—now it doesn’t seem so audacious, but this was more than 30 years ago—The Harvard Business School, which is now tremendously active in what are called social enterprises—at that time non-profits were really a marginal part of the mission of The Harvard Business School. And to start a program with what then called the West Point of Capitalism and the Girl Scouts—what an audacious idea that was!”
