EXERCISE: ENGAGED EMPLOYEES by ThEME

Ask everyone on your team to respond to the following – on a scale of 0 to 10 – with 0 meaning almost none and 10 meaning huge amounts

1) How much autonomy do you have over your tasks at work— your main responsibility and what you do in a given day?

2) How much autonomy do you have over your time at work—when you arrive, when you leave, and how you allocate your hours?

3) How much autonomy do you have over your team at work—to what extent are you able to choose the people with whom you collaborate?

4) How much autonomy do you have over your technique at work—how you actually perform the main responsibilities of your job?

Tabulate the results --- look at them in total and for individual questions. If the total average is 27 or better, and the average of each question is 6 or better, the team is engaged. Compare the results by groups answering.

In the discussion, jot down how many times “they” is used and how many times “we” is used.
