“The notion of prejudices avoids two traps. . .”

“The notion of prejudices avoids two traps into which much of the writing about business management has fallen. The first trap is trying to give specific, precise rules for outstanding management. Because this approach ignores the diversity and messiness of managers’ problems, it is doomed. The second trap is oversimplification. Some writers pitch their advice in such broad and general terms that their recommendations are vacant or mere platitudes. The style school epitomizes this approach. The prejudices provide guidance to manager who have a vision or a plan and want to know how to make it a reality or modify and improve it by drawing on the judgment and creativity of the people they work with.”
