“Eventually, as the friendship grew and we talked about more and more, she asked me if I would be interested in joining the Leader to Leader [The Frances Hesselbein Institute] board of directors. Well, as an old management guy, knowing, of course, the fame of Peter Drucker, I immediately accepted because I felt that the whole leadership idea that she was espousing through the Leader to Leader Institute [The Frances Hesselbein Institute] is something that'd be very important for my constituency and for my young men coming out [of prison], where we ask them to start to take responsibility for themselves and their community when they get out. And so this whole concept worked very well for me and it's just had our relationship grow more and more.”
