“When I was eight, Israel just started. Immediately after indepence, immigration tripled the population in Israel. There was not enough food, so the government put in place ration measures to evenly distribute food.

One of the big products was chicken. People wanted to eat chicken. There were farms that were told to ration chicken.

However, their neighbors just went to the farm and bought chicken outside of the policy. My mother was caught once, and the chicken was brought to the chief of police. Then, me and my neighbor thought, ‘If everyone wants chicken, then why don’t we raise chickens?’

Then we started incubating chickens (not counting them before they hatched), and then there was chicken for everyone in a year! That is the power of Entrepreneurship.”
