MANNERS by ThEME

Warren Bennis: I think we learn it or don’t learn it all the time in growing up. Sometimes it’s called good manners

Frances Hesselbein: Peter always said good manners are the lubricating oil of effective organization.

WB: That’s beautiful. Do you think, Frances, that effective, good leaders in general? Let’s place a value; people we would consider as terrific and good leaders, do you think they also have that sense of grace, because I do.

FRH: I know I have never known one who didn’t have great manners and graceful way. Look at my heroes; Peter Drucker, Warren Bennis, John Gardner. Look at the people today; Jim Collins, no one is more respectful. You look at the faculty of West Point; Colonel Kolditz, his team. General Huntoon. Wherever I go and the greatest leaders I have known in all three sectors have had good manners.
